No.20 Wemyss Private Railway

B

uilt by Andrew Barclay in 1939 (Works No.2068).

One of Britain's largest 0-6-0 designs and used on the extensive Weymss Private Railway system in East Fife.

This Engine is in poor mechanical condition although the boiler should only need a re-tube. There are several cracks in the frames which will need to be repaired and the trailing axle is below scrapping size. A spare set of axles complete with new tyres is in stock for this engine. These wheel sets have been sent out to RPSI at Whitehead to have the journals skimmed.

It is planned that this engine will be one of the next to be overhauled once No. 19 is completed.
