BR Standard Tank 80105:- Repairs have been carried out to the wasted areas of the smoke box at the door seal area. New axle springs have been ordered for the pony and truck.
LNER D49 Morayshire:- Routine maintenance has been carried out on 'Morayshire' with new brake blocks fitted and the linkage adjusted. A new LMS/BR standard type piston rod seal has been machined and fitted to the LH side cylinder. Work is under way to clean, free off and to make the sanders fully operational.
Austerity No.7:- The driving axle has been brought into the shed and the journals and eccentric pulleys properly cleaned and inspected. The main axle journals are in fair condition and are un worn but have some corrosion marks and some pitting but will clean up fine. Both big ends however will need to be machined due to serious corrosion damage to the journal surface despite being carefully protected by denso tape although the damage may well have occurred prior to the engine being dismantled. The eccentrics are all in good condition but the eccentric sheaves will need to be machined to obtain the correct clearances. Costs for machining the big ends in situ are being sought from specialist contractors at this time. Machining of the re-metaled cross head slippers is now in progress. A lapping tool has been made to dress the slide valve faces in the steam chest. This will be a time consuming operation and will require a lot of elbow grease!
Austerity No. 19:- New big end bearing castings have been ordered are being cast in Leaded Bronze. There will be a lot of machining work to have these ready to be fitted. The driving axle will also be brought into the shed and fully inspected so that if the big end journals require re-machining this can be done at the same time as No.7

Sentinel Ranald:- Now has its engine cover refitted and will soon be ready to moved out of the Romney shed. Renewal of all the inspection covers and engine access doors is underway as is the completion of the remaining cab fittings. A decision has been made to remove and scrap the defunct oil fired space heater and to remove to storage the very large bespoke pendulum grinder. This will free up some really useful space and permit the installation of a tool and cutter grinder as well as creating working space around the surface grinder, horizontal mill, universal mill and saws.
CR 419:- is now back as BR 55189 for the first time ever since it was purchased from BR. The smoke box now has BR shed and Number plates and engine is now in BR lined black. There is still some work still to do but is all but ready for the photo charter events later this Month.
