t has been quite a good year for the steam shed with substantial progress being made on the locomotive restoration projects as well as maintaining 4 locomotives in steam for most of the season.

 Substantive improvements have also been made to the running shed bothy and to the lighting in the running shed.

General News

The web site:  As you can see the web site has been completely revamped with a separate photo gallery and forum. I'm a little disappointed with the low usage of the forum as I had many requests for this type of facility but I'll keep it running for now and review its use mid 2010. I would appreciate any feed back on the forum or any difficulties or problems encountered etc. The online appeal donation facility is all but set up but awaiting a decision from the Society on how to proceed.

2010: Is going to be a very busy year with the partial re-tube of No.1 before the running season start, the return to operational use of No.7 by September and No.419 for the start of the 2011 season and withdrawal of No. 80105  from service for heavy overhaul  in September.  Even without taking into account unexpected locomotive repairs we have a very heavy work load to ensure a viable steam service in 2011 we are going to need all the volunteer help we can muster!
